• HOME FRONT: While results of the Third War Load campaign in Brown County over the weekend were far from encouraging War Finance committee leaders today remained optimistic that results will look more healthy when reports of individual purchases by the small investors in the cities and farms begin to pile up (Sept. 14) … Post office officials are prepared to expect Christmas mailing rush tomorrow, opening day of the mailing of parcels marked “Christmas Gifts’’ for Army and Navy personnel overseas (Sept. 14) … With a goal of 4,000 names and addresses and $12,000, several hundred block workers started out today in the American Legion’s campaign to send Christmas boxes to every Green Bay man or woman in the armed services, anywhere in the world (Sept. 15)"
